Notepad Ramblings and a Thought

The sea, ousted these hands,
From its belly, as time begets longing,
and every upside-down of this
recalls,
jeans and tees, all on the floor.
Sea wind to the wooden plank,
wrapped in algae,
embroidered in youth.
Two smiling faces,
and one that would steal my world away.
A few breaths-
the dive in,
dripping arms finally in an embrace.
This is what we live for.
We remember a dusty road,
worn by the sun,
with frayed billboards,
on its sides,
Just before we came across
the old signage-
the lady with the golden tooth
drawn by the roadside kiosk.
“1998 we must all…”
And then a fade,
to a painting,
left incomplete.
No one really remembers
what she was trying to say,
but that board,
always stirred something in us.
We never tried to explain it.
But it was there.
Do not become a man that looks
Past the mirror.
Do not love yourself
that much.
Do not hate yourself
that much.
This air remembers
the inside of loins,
of flesh and blood.
It accepts this exchange,
Every corner it must take,
The bends it must make.
It stays in its wisdom,
a calm voice,
all knowing:
Do we not know,
what gives a man his courage,
or lends fear
its face?
This air is as familiar
as ins an outs.
And in its own way,
we hear it
speak our name.
So listen-
in,
out.
Train Dreams from Netflix-
the rendition of love until fire,
hearts extending into fallen trees,
toward broken dreams,
where hope becomes
acceptance.
The lesson is this:
Longing can bring
what we desire
for a moment,
until it flees out the window-
a mirage,
only you would believe.
So while we have this life,
walk among the widowmakers,
or fly a yellow plane,
but exist.
In Kendricks voice,
we gon’ be alright.
